Best emerging  architecture practice

UK construction magazine BUILD awarded Oikonomakis Siampakoulis architects the "Best Emerging Architecture Practice 2023 - Greece" title in its annual Architecture Awards cycle. Simultaneously, the magazine awarded the studio's Solonos Parking Garage Renovation the title of the "Most Transformative On-going Infrastructure Project (Athens)".

Summer vacation house

An exciting, fresh commission is in full swing: At the beginning of 2023 we were trusted to design a new summer vacation family house near the sea, about an hour away from Athens. Situated within a 2.000 sqm property that features an existing garden and decades-old olive trees, the new house will be developed with great care around the garden in a way to carefully preserve the existing landscape.

60s Apartment Renovation

Our studio has been commissioned to completely redesign a gorgeous 150sqm Athens apartment with extraordinary handmade hardwood and terrazzo floors, tons of natural light, and high ceilings. We plan to restore all original details and design every single feature for the private use of its future owner. The project is an all-inclusive, bespoke services commission with design, permitting, documentation, project management and construction administration.

Postcards from the Anthropocene

Angelos Siampakoulis essay contribution in the collective volume 'Postcards from the Anthropocene: Unsettling the Geopolitics of Representation.' The book includes 45 contributions from significant scholars and practitioners across multiple disciplines in arts and humanities that cut across the Anthropocene debate and add new perspectives, exploring how our discursive and material conditions around the Anthropocene might transform the way we think about representation. Postcards from the Anthropocene was edited by Benek Çinçik and Tiago Torres-Campos and published by DPR Barcelona with the editorial advice of César Reyes. Book design by María Buey González.

Ktirio Greek Technical editions publishes our competition work for a new nursery, elderly care centre and neighbourhood park in Chania. The design draws inspiration from the playful colourful children’s brick toys, aiming to create an ensemble of colourful spaces, accessible terraces, and green roofs with lush vegetation.

EK magazine publishes our competition proposal for the D. Daskalopoulos Arts Building for Athens College. Our proposal looks carefully into the site and the campus, and suggests breaking down the educational program into five separate volumes. The in-between outdoor area enhances the existing campus circulation while providing independent access to the classes, art studios, library, and staff offices.

Solonos Parking Garage

15 July 2022

We are happy to announce construction start for Solonos parking garage. Phase-1 includes the refurbishment of the infrastructure's ground floor featuring a high-end marble reception area. Νext phases involve the reconstruction of the facades along Solonos, Asklipiou and Staikou streets, and the making of the owner's exclusive lounge space on the top floor with breathtaking Acropolis views.

Solonos Parking Garage

Earlier this month, the studio completed construction documentation for the overhaul of a 10,000 sq.m. parking garage facing Solonos and Asklipiou streets, at the centre of Athens. The project is currently under permitting, with construction scheduled to commence soon.

Europan 14, Madrid, Spain

Our proposal for Europan 14 (ES) makes it to the shortlist and gets presented at the European Forum for Cities in Helsinki. The work suggests the architectural reformation of the public space around Gran Via and the parallel return of the Madrileños at the city center.
