Solonos & Asklipiou ‘Unit Parking’ garage
Client: Private owner
Phase: Under construction
Ever imagined encountering a high-end, natural stone reception area at a garage infrastructure?
Located at the intersection of Solonos st. and Asklipiou st., behind the City of Athens Cultural Centre and at the heart of Athens’ centre, the project is about the overhaul of an existing 10.000 sqm parking garage. The overhaul is particularly focused on redesigning the groundfloor to include a new reception and coffee station, and the design of a working lounge at the top floor. The project also includes the redesign of the garage’s facades on Solonos, Asklipiou and Staikou streets. For both the triangular reception and the working lounge we chose top-quality natural black marble and white terrazzo with elegant brass details; on the contrary, we specify white industrial finishes for the parking areas. The penthouse lounge features a long, bar-like counter alongside the corner sofa and the fireplace, a spacious bathroom, as well as a private meeting room. The lounge area enjoys breathtaking views to the Acropolis through its big sliding window that connects the space’s balcony with the indoor area. New flowerboxes at the edge of the property’s floorplates host a variety of plants, trees and flowers that enhance the new white, porous façade and offer privacy to the working lounge, as well as a moment of surprise for the passer-by who encounter this hanging garden at the heart of Athens.
The project is currently under construction and more information will follow.
